In light of the coronavirus pandemic and for the health and safety of our customers, our dedicated staff, and the public at large, the Register of Deeds office will temporarily close to the public. Documents may still be electronically filed, dropped off or customers may continue to file documents by mail addressed to Shelby County Register of Deeds, 1075 Mullins Station W165, Memphis TN. 38134. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your document so that we may mail it back to you. Documents will no longer be picked up after being submitted to the office.
We encourage customers to electronically file records and sign up today by completing form 1 ACH Form for e-filling at the bottom of this page. The is the quickest and easiest way to file and for us to process documents. Once you complete this form, mail or drop off the form to our office. E-filing requires establishing an account (ACH) for payment. There is no special program to purchase or special hardware for your computer. The documents will have to be scanned as tiff images, no color images, only black and white, 200 to 300 DPI.
For those customers who ordinarily come to the Register’s office front counter, a secure document drop-off box is available outside 1075 Mullins Station W165 where documents can be dropped for processing. The drop off boxed will be check at 9 a.m. 10 a.m. 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. The staff will be available at 901-222-8100 to answer any questions. Those with bulk drop-offs should call ahead to arrange for delivering their documents. After recording and fee payment, documents submitted that have been appropriately processed will be returned by mail in the self-addressed envelope provided to the office. We will provide updates on any changes in our operations by posting updates on our website.
